Know About Digital Marketing !!

What is Digital Marketing?
The Marketing of products or services using digital channels to reach consumers. The key objective is to promote brands through various forms of digital media using the Internet as a core promotional medium. Various types of digital marketing techniques include:
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Search Engine Marketing
  • Content Marketing
  • Social Media Marketing
  • E-Mail Marketing
  • Social Media Optimization
Search Engine Optimization: SEO is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in Search Engine Result Page (SERP) for unpaid results - often referred to as natural or organic Results. The Natural or organic listings are the pages listing results from a search engine query which are displayed in a sequence according to the relevance of match between the keyword phrase typed into a search engine and a web page according to a ranking algorithm used by the search engine.
Advantages of SEO for marketing:
  • Highly targeted. Visitors are searching for particular products or services so will often have a high intent to purchase
  • Potentially low-cost visitors. There are no media costs for ad display or click through. Costs arise solely from the optimization process where agencies are paid to improve positions in the search results.
  • Dynamic. The search engine robots will crawl the home page of popular sites daily, so new content is included relatively quickly for the most popular pages of a site.
Search Engine Marketing: Search engine marketing is a form of Internet marketing that involves the promotion of websites by increasing their visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) primarily through paid advertising.SEM may incorporate SEO, which adjusts or rewrites website content to achieve a higher ranking in search engine results pages to enhance pay per click (PPC) listings.
Types of SEM:
  • Paid Inclusion: Paid inclusion involves a search engine company charging fees for the inclusion of a website in their results pages.
  • Also known as sponsored listings, paid inclusion products are provided by most search engine companies either in the main results area or as a separately identified advertising area.
  • In the starting, other search engines (except Google) like Microsoft, Ask, Yahoo and Overture used Paid Inclusion as a convenient tool for earning revenue.
  •  Google was against it & rather depended upon Adsense as a revenue source. But in 2012 Google incorporated paid inclusion (though condemned by many critics).
Content Marketing:  Content marketing is any marketing that involves the creation and sharing of media and publishing content in order to acquire and retain customers. This information can be presented in a variety of formats, including news, video, white papers, e-books, infographics, case studies, how-to guides, question and answer articles, photos, etc.
Social Media Marketing: Social media marketing refers to the process of gaining traffic or attention through social media sites. Social media itself is a universal term for sites that may provide radically different social actions. For instance:
  • Twitter is a social site designed to let people share short messages or “updates” with others.
  • Facebook, in contrast, is a full-blown social networking site that allows for sharing updates, photos, joining events and a variety of other activities.
  • LinkedIn is for Professional and Business Networking
  • Google Plus, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram are some other Social networking sites.
Email Marketing: Email marketing is an email sent for commercial promotion to a group of people. Email marketing can be carried out through different types of emails :
  • Transactional Emails: A promotional mail is called Transactional Email when the user is already engaged with the sender’s company. So the main purpose of these emails is "to confirm a transaction that the recipient has previously agreed to enter with the sender”.
  • Direct Emails: Directly sending promotional messages to prospected clients without any prior engagement.
